The previous two died.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />The mission has so far identified 16 people who came into contact with the soldier, and they have been quarantined, she said. Areas the peacekeeper visited while symptomatic have been decontaminated.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />The man will be the first Ebola patient hospitalized in the Netherlands. He is being treated in a Dutch hospital at the request of the World Health Organization, Freriksen said.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />The Ebola outbreak has sickened nearly 17,300 people, mostly in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. People have no food to eat and they are living in fear of their lives. We need to spare for our brothers out there who are suffering not just of the Catholic faith but anyone out there in pains.<br/><br /><br/><br />“The tragedy is that the rest of the country is moving on as if nothing catastrophic is happening. Politicians are gathering, multi million naira parties being thrown, and everyone is carrying on with business as usual.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“Is it that we have heard so much about Boko Haram that these happenings are no longer news but have become normal daily narratives? But imagine being a refugee in your own country ! Imagine running for hours for safety. Imagine not being certain if you would eat for days. But the fight against Boko Haram is not a wrestling match, it is a competition of fire power. One of them was reported to have worn the uniform usually used by officials of the anti-robbery squad.</p><br /><p><a href="http://ift.tt/1muoMA8" target="_blank">Punch</a> reports that the victim was walking along with her mother when she was confronted by the men. It was said that the mother was threatened with a gun when she wanted to defend her daughter.<br/><br />The gang, who were said to have arrived at the Oshodi area around 2.30pm, whisked the woman <a id="more" name="more"> </a>away in a Honda Pilot jeep.</p><br /><p>PUNCH Metro also learnt that the young woman struggled to avoid being abducted by snatching handcuffs from one of the abductors and smashing it on his head. The man, who was reported to be on a uniform with a scorpion logo at the back, corked his gun to disperse a crowd who wanted to help the woman.</p><br /><p>When their correspondent arrived at the scene of the incident at about 2.45pm, the victim’s mother was seen pacing up and down and shouting “egba mi, omo mi!” (Please help me, my daughter). The worried mother did not reply our correspondent’s enquiries as she ran after the vehicle.</p><br /><p>One of the eyewitnesses, who craved anonymity, showed PUNCH Metro the picture he took while the car was zooming off, adding that the angry crowd hurled stones at it.<br/><br />He said:<br/> </p><br /><blockquote class='tr_bq'>“The men were four, but only one of them came out to abduct the lady. She managed to grab the handcuffs from the man and hit him on the head. He did not let her go. He dragged her to a pole and punched her several times till she was helpless. As some of us wanted to rescue her, the man brought out a gun and threatened to shoot anybody that came near him. Even an Air Force official who approached the others in the vehicle was shunned.”</blockquote><br /><p>Another eyewitness, who gave his name only as Johnson, said the gang might be cultists, adding that the woman might have stepped on their toes.<br/><br />A man simply, identified as Ayo, however, said that the men were kidnappers. He said they would have killed the woman on the spot if they were cultists.<br/> </p><br /><blockquote class='tr_bq'>“I cannot say they are policemen because the man in uniform has beard which is not allowed in armed forces. They must be kidnappers. They would have shot her dead if they were cult members,” he said.</blockquote><br /><p>Attempts to get a reaction from the Lagos State spokesperson, Ngozi Braide, proved abortive as calls made to her mobile phone rang out. She had also not replied to the text message sent to her phone as of the time of going to press.</p><br /></div>

That is how it should be and it is a very good lesson for our future elections.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>“The successful conduct of a free, fair and peaceful election in Ekiti is a good omen for the subsequent elections to come, and indeed for the satisfaction of the aspiration of Nigerians for a consolidated democracy. We must therefore not rest on our oars, but continue to do our best collectively to sustain and keep on improving on this achievement.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>“The coming election in Osun state, God willing should on the count be better, and the 2015 general elections must be the best. It is therefore a challenge for all of us to join hands and continue to work together to ensure this necessary outcome”.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>Prof. Jega, however, expressed dissatisfaction with the way the parties and their candidates were flouting election campaign and threatened to sanction any of them who failed to follow the 90 days prescribed in the Electoral Act before embarking on campaign.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>Chairman of the Inter Party Advisory Council, IPAC, Tanko Yinusa, who congratulated the INEC chairman on the successful conduct of the Ekiti governorship election, noted that the Council had a 13-point agenda which it forwarded to INEC for consideration.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>Mr. Yinusa, who is also the National chairman of National Conscience Party, NCP, stated that highlights of the agenda, which it intended to discuss with the National Assembly, included measures to ensure the survival of political parties, registration and deregistration as well as funding of political parties.</p><br /><br/><br />="left"><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/> </div><br /></div>
