The new Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, on Wednesday met behind closed-doors with President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting, which lasted about an hour was the first the President would be having with Emefiele since he formally took over the leadership of the apex bank on Tuesday.

He was said to have used the opportunity of the meeting to brief Jonathan of his administration’s plan for the bank which is expected to be released to the press on Thursday.

The President was also said to have advised the CBN governor on the need to maintain the bank’s integrity in order to sustain economic growth in line with his administration’s transformation agenda.
