FG Forwards Umeh, Shinkafi’s Names As Delegates To Confab

Sequel to the Court of Appeal ruling, Abuja Division, which af­firmed Chief Victor Umeh as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alli­ance (APGA), the Federal Government has forwarded Umeh’s name and that of the party’s National Sec­retary, Alhaji Sani Shinkafi as APGA’s nominees to the National Conference .

It would be recalled that the Court of Appeal last week, affirmed Umeh and Shinkafi as the National Chairman and National Sec­retary respectively, of APGA and set aside the judgment of the Federal High Court, Abuja, which had sacked them and the entire leadership of the party.

In a letter dated June 23, 2014 with reference No SGF.32/S.44/C.297 addressed to the chairman of the National Con­ference, Justice Idris Legbo Kutigi (rtd) and seen by our correspondent, Secretary to the Government of the Federa­tion, Anyim Pius Anyim stated that the letter was induced by the recent judgment of the Court of Appeal on the leader­ship of APGA.
