All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Niger state, Alh Abubakar Bello, has been declared winner of the governorship election in the state by the Returning Officer, Prof. Abdulganiu Ambali.







Bello polled 593,702 votes to defeat Alh. Umar Nasko of the Peoples Democratic Party, who got 239,772 votes.







The APC governorship candidate won 23 of the 25 local government areas announced.



Bello had taking a commanding lead earlier on Sunday, winning all 16 local government areas before a break was announced in collation around 5pm.







It wasn’t until midnight that collation resumed with the APC sustaining its momentum.
