Three suspected homos*xuals were yesterday remanded in Ibara prison by a Chief Magistrate’s court, sitting at Isabo in Abeokuta, Ogun State.




The suspects, 64‑year‑old Oluwasegun Adesina‑Rasheed, 20-year-old Samad Ojo and 18-year-old Ope Abeeb were allegedly caught in the act on February 14 at about 11:30 p.m., apparently celebrating the St. Valentine’s day at the secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun State Council, otherwise known as Ile‑Iroyin in Oke‑Ilewo, Abeokuta.




Police prosecutor, Inspector Banji Sangotokun told the court that the three men engaged in the banned practice in the first accused, Adesina‑Rasheed’s, Honda CRV Sports Utility Vehicle.




The accused persons however pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of cpnspiracy and homos*xuality.




The Chief Magistrate, Mr Anthony Araba adjourned the case till February 24, after denying the suspects bail and ordering that they be remanded in Ibara Prison.
