<script type="text/javascript"> <script size='468x60' src='http://srvpub.com/adServe/banners?tid=22528_31474_5' type='text/javascript'></script> <script type='text/javascript'> google_ad_client = "ca-pub-6630608044863529"; google_ad_slot = "4870332095"; google_ad_width = 300; google_ad_height = 250; </script> <script src='//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js' type='text/javascript'> </script> <div xmlns='http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml'><div xmlns='http://ift.tt/lH0Osb'>The ownership tussle of the Sheraton Lagos Hotel and Towers and its owning company, Ikeja Hotels Plc, on Tuesday deepened as different members of the Ibru family moved to assert authority.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />The Tusle is generally between Mrs Maiden Ibru, widow of late Guardian Publisher, Mr Alex Ibru and Mr Goodie Ibru, the hotel Chairman.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that while a group led by Mrs Maiden Ibru, widow of late Guardian Publisher, Mr Alex Ibru, moved to hold an Extra-Ordinary General Meeting (EGM), Mr Goodie Ibru, the hotel Chairman, described the purported meeting as null and void.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />NAN also reports that Mrs Ibru had earlier on Dec. 1, 2014 published an EGM notice of Ikeja Hotels Plc in the Guardian and Punch Newspapers, in an apparent bid to overhaul the company.<br/><br /><br/><br /><div class='separator' style='clear: both; text-align: center;'><a href="http://ift.tt/143eox5" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="http://ift.tt/143eox5" width="320"/> </a> </div><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />Her notice of EGM followed an earlier court order arising from an ex parte motion forcing the company to hold the meeting, on Jan. 6, 2015 at the Sheraton Hotel.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><a id="more" name="more"> </a><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />On the other hand, the other members of the Ibru family, led by Goodie Ibru, got an ex parte injunction from the Federal High Court, Abuja, restraining Mrs Ibru from calling an EGM or representing her late husband’s investment vehicles holding shares in Ikeja Hotels Plc.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />Goodie Ibru’s group said that their ex parte motion was sequel to a bitter litigation between the children of his first wife, Mrs Helen Ibru, and Mrs Maiden, his second wife.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />But in a swift development, some shareholders of the hotel, against a federal high court order, on Tuesday sacked Goddie Ibru, as the chairman and director of the company, over corporate governance infractions.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />NAN reports that the shareholders unanimously approved the sack of Ibru at an alleged EGM in Lagos.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />The shareholders also appointed Mr Olumide Braithwaite and Mr Tunde Sarumi, as directors of the company.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />They also appointed KPMG Nigeria Ltd to carry out a forensic audit of the management of the company from 1999 to 2014, when Ibru was its chairman.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />The shareholders also mandated KPMG to carry out a forensic audit of the share register and verification of the funding and payment for the shares of the company by holders, directly or indirectly amounting to two per cent or more.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />The meeting was presided over by an interim Chairman appointed by the shareholders, Mr Rasheed Olaoluwa, the Managing Director, Bank of Industry (BOI), also a shareholder in the hotel.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />NAN also reports that the meeting was held amidst drama as the shareholders were barred from entering the premises of Sheraton Hotels following a court injunction granted Ibru by the Federal High Court, Abuja.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />via nigerianeye</div><br /></div>

If governors are yet to get their voter’s cards, of course that means that so many Nigerians are yet to get and people are a bit worried.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“But to me I’m quite pleased, not pleased in the negative sense, but because of the awareness that has come on; that Nigerians want to have their voter’s cards. In 2011, no Nigerian will complain about voter’s card and that’s why when some politicians talk I just laugh. Before 2011 how many Nigerians complained about not having voter’s card because elections were not conducted with voter’s cards. This is contrary to claims by the APC that the building was accessed illegally.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“On arriving at the building at No. 10, Bola Ajibola Street, Ikeja, Lagos, Officers of this Service found that the building did not have the signpost, banner or flag of any company or political party.”<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />According to her, “In the course of investigation, the following discoveries were made: a temporary Voters Card; Permanent Voters Card, that one of the hard drives recovered from the building contained a video of twenty-one (21) hacking tutorials.”<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />She noted that “The tutorial video focused on “How to become a hacker and steps to take to avoid detection in the process of hacking web servers, steps and procedures of system hacking, passwords cracking, decrypting, escalating access privileges, and creating backdoors to servers.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“It also explicitly explained how to evade security of databases such as Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), firewalls, and other measures put in place to deter hackers;<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“The video outlined ways to identify vulnerabilities in systems and how to surreptitiously drop a USB flash drive in a target establishment, which when plugged into any computer, transmits malicious codes enough to gain access into and compromise the entire system of the target organization; and<br/><br /><br/><br />“Finally, the video explains how to hack into the systems of media houses, with the aim of broadcasting fake stories or headlines,” she said.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />Ogar said further, “It was also discovered that the APC registered under-aged persons including several infants and babies as members of the party. We know that Article 9.1 of the APC Party Constitution expressly says: “membership of the party shall be open to any citizen of Nigeria who has attained the age of eighteen (18) years and accepts the aims and objectives of the Party … ”<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />Similarly, the APC registered several security personnel from the Nigerian Army (NA), the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) among others, in their uniforms as members of the party;<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“Furthermore the APC had multiple registrations of individuals in multiples of 16, 12, and 10;<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“Several foreigners were also registered as its members;<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“Also, the APC filled forms without passport photographs, and have books containing names of people with their phone numbers;<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“Equally discovered were several envelopes containing passport photographs of various individuals;<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“From the foregoing, that we suspect there was an elaborate and well articulated plan to inflate the Party’s membership data as well as hack into INEC’s voter registration database through the creation of party membership forms and cards to match INEC’s voters register across the country.”<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />via nigerianeye</div><br /></div>

Now, after a ‘painstaking’ investigation, the DSS has found out that the APC was only planning to inflate its membership data and then hack into INEC’s database. And this is the outcome of its massive, months-long investigations?<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />”This would have been funny if it were not from a primary domestic intelligence agency saddled with a great responsibility. Can this wish-washy report stand any serious scrutiny? Can any serious intelligence gathering agency anywhere else in the world take this report seriously?<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“With these kind of findings, one can now understand why Boko Haram has continued to strike at times and places of its own choosing without any prior knowledge by our all-powerful DSS.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />”Even the presentation of the report by a poorly-trained and highly-politicised spokesperson of the DSS worsened the so-called findings. Why would the spokesperson for a national agency sound like a megaphone for the ruling party, freely castigating the opposition spokesman and ”a number of uninformed members of the public”? Why does she have to go personal in presenting a report that supposedly is in the national interest?<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />”We have always warned that our democracy is in clear and present danger, not just from desperate politicians, but also from institutions of state that have compromised in their roles and resorted to crass lawlessness.
