Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has said his administration will do everything to free Nigeria from the cycle of corruption, unemployment and insecurity.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />Buhari said this on Wednesday at the presidential campaign of the APC held at the Osogbo City Stadium.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><a id="more" name="more"> </a><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />The rally, which was billed to hold around 10am, did not start until around 5:45pm when Buhari led other chieftains of the party to the stadium. Surprisingly the crowd refused to leave the venue despite the hours of delay.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />Buhari said, “Nigeria is under the shackles of corruption, unemployment and insecurity. We are determined to break the vicious cycle.”<br/><br /><br/><br />The former military Head-of-State said that his administration would use agriculture and mining to address the problem of unemployment which he said would reduce crime in the country.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />The presidential candidate of the leading opposition party thanked the people of the state for their dodged support for the APC, saying they showed the loyalty to the party with their support for Governor Rauf Aregbesola during the August 9 governorship election.<br/><br /><br/><br />The National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Oyegun, in his short speech associated the Peoples Democratic Party to bad governance, insecurity and corruption.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />He described Buhari as a man of courage and integrity who could see where others could not see anything.<br/><br /><br/><br />He urged the people of Osun State and entire Nigerians, irrespective of religion and ethnic leaning, to reject the PDP at the February elections.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />via nigerianeye</div><br /></div>

<div xmlns='http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml'><div xmlns='http://ift.tt/lH0Osb'><br/><br /><br/><br /><div class='separator' style='clear: both; text-align: center;'><a href="http://ift.tt/1BsctzV" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="304" src="http://ift.tt/1BsctzV" width="400"/> </a> </div><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />A former military Head of State, Gen Abdulsalami Abubakar, has said Nigerians must rise up in unison to tell our politicians that our country is bigger than their personal ego and ambitions.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />He also said unless checkmated, the inordinate ambition as well as desperation of some of our politicians are capable of terminally checkmating our nation.<br/><br /><br/><br /><a id="more" name="more"> </a><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />Abubakar said this in an open letter entitled ‘Letter to Nigerians’ on Wednesday.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />He explained that Nigeria was once again at a crossroads and was unsure of which way to go.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />The former military ruler noted that the nation was being threatened by an intractable insurgency, unprecedented carnage, a rise in the menace of riots, communal violence, cattle rustling and sundry criminality in several states.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />According to him, to make matters worse, our political class daily display immaturity in their conduct and utterances to further heat up the polity.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />He said it was time we tell one another uncomfortable home truths.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />The retired general pointed out that it was the duty of leaders at all levels to tell truth to power in order to help correctly identify and diagnose the causes of disaffection and anger in the land, and do something about them.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />He noted that there was palpable desperation everywhere in the land, explaining that we were in a situation in which everyone was dissatisfied with what was going on, but nobody was sure of what to do, or what was going to happen next.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />Abubakar expressed sadness that the nation had suffered greatly with the loss of several lives with more than a million people displaced within the country, and tens of thousands forced across our borders into neighbouring countries.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />He said, “In one of the most senseless attacks, more than 2,000 people were said to have been killed in a single attack on Baga town of Borno State last week. He said that he finally settled with a party that is worse than Ebola.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />The former governor said, PDP, as an Ebola party has totally crippled the economy of the nation, saying that Nigeria is going through trial today because it chose the wrong leader in 2011, lamenting President Goodluck Jonathan had been given time to justify his failure, until recently when he admitted his failure.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“We want a change, we want Buhari, the economy has failed, Jonathan has finished spending our money. We need somebody whose head is correct, the revolution we need is here,” he said.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />Tinubu added that Lagos is too important for the PDP to experiment with, saying that Ambode is the right man for the job as he had lots of experience in governance.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />He said eight years ago when he presented Governor Babatunde Fashola, it was because he believed he could do the job, saying that the results were there for all to see, adding that now, he has presented Ambode and wants maximum support for him because he has the needed experience to do the job.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“I am proud that I am the father of successors. Our prayer is that our children should live and perform better than us,” he said.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />Speaking Governor Fashola accused the PDP of bastardising the nation’s economy, describing the party as worse than Ebola, urging the people to get their Permanent Voters Card, PVCs, to vote out the PDP out of power.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />He berated Jonathan for giving excuses not to fight insecurity by hinging it on the fact that the APC presidential candidate, Muhammed Buhari did not purchase guns for the armed forces in 1985.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“I cannot come to the public and say I can’t do my job because people failed. You cannot say you can’t fight insecurity because they did not buy you guns. Buhari left in 1985. If he bought guns, do you want to use 1985 guns to fight today’s insecurity?” he quizzed.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />APC Chairman, Lagos State, Chief Henry Ajomale said there was no way the PDP could win Lagos state, saying that the party that had destroyed the economy of this nation did not deserve to be voted for.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“We must change and put somebody who can do the job. We have a problem in Nigeria, corruption and poor economy is facing the nation.
