The towns were named as Yamteke, Izge, Bita and Uba in Askira Uba and Damboa Local Government Areas of Borno State.</span> </div><br /><div class='MsoNormal'> </div><br /><div class='MsoNormal'><span class='timelinecommenttext'>Army spokesperson, Sani Usman, said troops of 3 and 7 division of the Nigerian Army, supported by colleagues from the Air Force, liberated the towns from the insurgents yesterday.</span> </div><br /><div class='MsoNormal'> </div><br /><div class='MsoNormal'><span class='timelinecommenttext'>He also said the operation was in continuation of the push by the Nigerian military to liberate Sambisa forest, a stronghold of the terrorists in the State.</span> </div><br /><div class='MsoNormal'> </div><br /><p>Sadly a soldier was lost while 10 others were injured during the operation, but many terrorists were killed and various weapons recovered.</p><br /></div>

On observation, he found out that one of them, the suspect, was not properly dressed and immediately cautioned him. The junior officer, a Corporal, got angry and began to grumble for being told to dress properly.</div><br /><div style='clear: both;' class='separator'> </div><br /><div style='clear: both;' class='separator'>An angry Chris felt his action was unacceptable and warned the officer that he was going to disarm him if he didn’t take care. Instead of apologizing, the junior officer cocked his gun and threatened to shoot his boss.</div><br /><div style='clear: both;' class='separator'> </div><br /><div style='clear: both;' class='separator'>He told Eza that if he came close to him, he would shoot. Calling his bluff, Eza moved towards the officer, who immediately opened fire. Other officers around rushed Chris to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH) Bauchi where he was declared dead on arrival. Until his death, he was the MOPOL 11 Commander.</div><br /><div style='clear: both;' class='separator'> </div><br /><div style='clear: both;' class='separator'>The officer has since been arrested and investigations into the motive for the killing is ongoing.</div><br /></div>
