<div xmlns='http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml'><div xmlns='http://ift.tt/lH0Osb'><br /><div class='separator' style='clear: both; text-align: center;'><a href="http://ift.tt/17brEld" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="228" src="http://ift.tt/17brEld" width="400"/> </a> </div><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><b>The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on Monday said it had not extended the service year of outgoing corps members listed to participate in the rescheduled general elections.</b><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />The NYSC Director of Press, Mrs Bose Aderibigbe, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><a id="more" name="more"> </a><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />She said that contrary to insinuations, the outgoing corps members would participate in the elections as ad hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />Aderibigbe said their completion of the national service would not affect their participation in the elections, stressing that INEC had already trained them for the exercise.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />She said the NYSC did not make provisions for their welfare beyond 12 months, stressing that keeping them till the election date in March would exceed its budget.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“They have finished as corps members; that is why we are passing them out. If they stay till March it means government will be paying their money.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“They are only entitled to 12 months pay from NYSC, so as soon as they pass out they get their certificates and they go.<br/><br /><br/><br />“They may stay back and participate in the elections because they have been trained to do it not as corps members but as ad hoc staff of INEC,’’ she said.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />Aderibigbe said that the welfare of the outgoing corps members, who have been scheduled to participate in the elections, would be taken care of by the electoral commission.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />According to the director, INEC has promised to pay them their entitlements, including transport and feeding allowances.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />She explained that INEC would pay them a percentage before the elections and the balance would be paid afterwards.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />The director called on the affected persons not to entertain fear as their entitlements would be given to them at the appropriate time.<br/><br /><br/><br />On the safety of corps members participating in the elections, Aderibigbe said the NYSC management had constituted a security committee to guarantee the safety and security of participating corps members.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />According to her, the Director-General and other staff of NYSC have gone across the country to sensitise corps members participating in the elections.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />via nigerianeye</div><br /></div>

If the federal government does not have good industrial policy, unemployment will continue to be here. So PDP brought unemployment. PDP government brought kidnapping to our country. There was no single case of kidnapping before 1999, PDP brought kidnapping,” he stated.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“The most worrisome of them all is that in 1999, PDP Government was handed 774 Local Government Areas and as we speak now, Boko Haram controls about 30 Local Government Areas and if they continue to rule, they will get here. We have the best soldiers in the world, they go to other countries for peace keeping. How come they now say our soldiers are now running from common insurgents? For 16 years, they have not equipped our military.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />While urging the people to vote en masse for the APC, Oshiomhole said: “I can give you 100 reasons why we must vote Buhari. It is for our own survival. It goes beyond tribal sentiments. PDP has failed Nigeria. They have reduced Nigeria to a joke. They have shared our companies to themselves. They extorted our unemployed graduates all in the name of scam recruitment exercise. You cannot continue to vote for a party that has lost every sense of responsibility and reduced our country to a huge joke even within the African continent.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“This coming election will be a decisive one. We have a presidential candidate that has courage, a presidential candidate that will fight corruption and you will be counting the casualties. How can they say all our refineries are good and yet we are importing products and because we are importing, that is why petrol and kerosene price have refused to reduce. If our refineries are not working, where will those our children studying Electrical, Petroleum, Chemical and Mechanical Engineering work after graduation? If PDP could not do refinery in 16 years, do you want to give them another chance to fail? That is why Nigeria needs General Buhari.”<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />The Governor who presented the candidates of the APC vying for various elective positions in the state said, “we need the very best and come day, come night, I can vouch that with them, the development of this area will be sustained.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“These are tested men. I’m not in the position to react.”<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />Meanwhile, a former Minister of Transport, Chief Ebenezer Babatope, has welcomed Obasanjo’s action, saying the action was a welcome development to the party.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />But he described the former president as a hard fighter.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />Babatope said, “Obasanjo’s leaving the PDP has come as a happy and welcome development. With Obasanjo’s exit, a huge yoke has been lifted off the neck of PDP.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“I congratulate the PDP for being patient in dealing with former President Obasanjo’s offensives against the Party without embarking on wild and unproductive conclusions.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“Though Obasanjo is a hard fighter, his exit will have no effect of any kind on the PDP.
