Out of the 70, 54 are South Africans while the remaining were from Nigeria, Benin republic, Togo and other countries.</div><br /></div>

Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State, have denied dumping their boss and the All Progressives Congress (APC).</p><br /><br/><br /><p>Last week, the acting governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, dissolved Nyako’s cabinet and held a closed door meeting with his commissioners at their request. The meeting led to speculations that the commissioners had abandoned the former governor.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>Reacting to the allegation, Chairman of Nyako’s Commissioners Forum, Alhaji Aminu Iyawa, said the meeting they held with Fintiri had nothing to do with Nyako or their defection to the PDP.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>“We only used the opportunity to request the acting governor to settle our entitlements like the severance allowance. Nothing was discussed about Nyako and there was no request for us to move to PDP. As a forum, we still have faith in Nyako and have not lost hope of his possible return to his position in view of the pending court case challenging his removal”, he said.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>Iyawa described the allegation that the commissioners did nothing to stop Nyako’s impeachment as ‘unfortunate’.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>He said that they were actively engaged in making contacts with relevant stakeholders to stop the impeachment.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>“I think our problem was that some people expected us to start abusing the lawmakers in the media, but we felt the best thing was to appeal to them through dialogue. We reached out to major stakeholders and even made some headway before the whole thing degenerated at the last minute due to certain interests”, Iyawa said. <div xmlns='http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml'><div xmlns='http://ift.tt/lH0Osb'><br /><p><img alt="kaduna-blast-july-702x336" class="alignleft size-full wp-image-230922" height="336" src="http://ift.tt/1sWRXUz" width="702"/>The apex northern organization, Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), has described the twin explosions in Kaduna State yesterday as a national calamity, disservice to humanity and a great shock to the nation “especially in the Holy month of Ramadan”.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>ACF spokesman, Mohammed Ibrahim, said in a statement last night that the incident, coming after the Islamic cleric and one of the targets of the explosion, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, had concluded this year’s Tafsir at Murtala Muhammad Square, Kaduna, with prayers for peace and harmony to reign in Nigeria, was worrisome.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>The ACF spokesman said the insecurity in the country especially in the North has placed “our people in a state of despair and helplessness; it has also crippled the socio-economic activities of the region”.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>He said ACF condemned “in strong term the senseless and inhuman act of terrorism being perpetrated by the insurgents and their collaborators against the Nigerian people especially the Kaduna twin bomb blast where innocent people in pursuit of their legitimate means of livelihood were killed and injured”.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>The statement called on the government to decisively use all legitimate means and security apparatus at its disposal to tackle the insecurity situation.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>“The need for synergy between the security agencies and the community for intelligence gathering and utilization is necessary in combating this menace”, ACF said.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>It also appealed to the insurgents and other terrorists to lay down their arms and embrace peace and dialogue as the killing of innocent people and destruction of their property is not a solution to any perceived injustice or grievance.</p><br /><br/><br />="left"><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/> </div><br /></div>

Fruit bats have been considered to be the natural host of the virus.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />Idris said: “Ebola Virus Disease is caused by the Ebola virus and outbreaks occur primarily in villages of the Central and West Africa. The virus can be spread through, close contact with the blood, body fluids, organ and tissues of infected animals; direct contact with blood, organ or body secretions of an infected person.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />The transmission of the virus by other animals like monkey and chimpanzee cannot be ruled out.<br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/><br />“Early symptoms of disease include fever, headache, chills, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, sore throat, backache, and joint pains. Later symptoms include bleeding from the eyes, ears and nose, bleeding from the mouth and rectum, eye swelling, swelling of the genitals and rashes all over the body that often contain blood. <div xmlns='http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml'><div xmlns='http://ift.tt/lH0Osb'><br /><p><img alt="Akpabio" class="alignleft size-full wp-image-160095" height="300" src="http://ift.tt/1hbUe6d" width="200"/>Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State and other concernced Nigerians have expressed hopes that with fervent prayers, Nigeria will overcome the security challenges currently bedeviling her.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>Speaking with State House correspondents after the 2014 Presidential National Prayer and Breakfast session held at the Presidential Villa on Saturday, where President Goodluck Jonathan called on Nigerians to intercede for the nation over the insecurity situation, Akpabio noted that there was nothing impossible for God to do.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>“We are all believers, both the Christians and the Muslims, and we believe strongly that there is nothing that is impossible before God.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>“What we have done this morning through our dear President is to present Nigeria before God and present all the challenges that we are facing today to God Almighty and I am very convinced, as a human being and as one of the small leaders in the country that God will intervene. God has intervened in the affairs of Nigeria and God will lead us aright”, he said.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>Akpabio, who is Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governors Forum, expressed confidence that with the prayers offered at the session, divine intervention is on the way.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>“The security problems that we are seeing today are temporal just like our dear President has pointed out that these things are ephemeral… nothing is permanent. It is only the word of God that is permanent. We have called on God and I know that God will intervene and the enemies we are seeing today, we will see them no more”, Mr Akpabio stressed.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>The Secretary of the Nigerian Christians Pilgrims Board, Mr John Kennedy Opara, said that “what Nigeria is doing is to replicate what many countries of the world did several years ago when they were in turmoil and got free.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>“Today portends Unity. Today is a day of reflection. It gives us an opportunity to reflect as a nation and pray for our dear country Nigeria.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>“If you check the history of national prayer breakfast, from America till today, you will see that when the people of a nation gather to pray under the able leadership of the president there is always a significant change and that is what we have gathered under the leadership of the President to do today. It is a significant day”, he told State House correspondents.</p><br /><br/><br /><p>Information Nigeria reports that at the prayer session, which was graced by President Boni Yayi of Benin Republic, President Jonathan had stressed that the Boko Haram sect would “surely pay” for every attack that they have carried out in Nigeria.</p><br /><br/><br />="left"><br/><br /><br/><br /><br/> </div><br /></div>
