Suspected cultists on Monday shot dead a 300-level student of the department of Vocational and Technical Education in the University of Benin.


The name of the deceased was simply identified as James. He was said to have been shot in the head at close range by the suspected cultists at Ekosodin community while returning home after watching a match at one of the football viewing centers in the community. Students are said to be the main

inhabitants of the community.


A police van brought his corpse to the

University of Benin teaching hospital where doctors confirmed him dead.

James killing is coming few weeks after

another student, Ejiroghene Gbenedio, a

300-level student of the Department of Chemistry in the Faculty of Physical Sciences, was axed to death by suspected cultists within the university campus.
