Femi Kuti, Nigerian music legend and the eldest son of afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti, has lost out at the Grammy Awards for the fourth time. He was nominated for the 56th Annual Grammy Awards in the ‘Best World Music Album' category for his album 'No Place For My Dream' with 3 other artistes, but lost out to French group Gipsy Kings and South African choral group Ladysmith Black Mambazo in a tie.
The winner for the category and some others were announced at a pre-telecast yesterday evening Jan. 26th. The Afrobeat king also lost out at the Grammys in 2003, 2010 and 2011 ... Means nothing because being nominated alone is a great achievement.
