Over 700 inherited projects left by previous administrations in Kano state have been slated for completion in the 2014 fiscal year budget.
The State Commissioner for Planning and Budget, Alhaji Yusuf Danbatta, said that the sum of N4.9b was earmarked for the Independent Power Project (IPP) in a joint project arrangement between the state and local governments.
Addressing reporters on 2014 budget breakdown over the weekend, Danbatta explained that the sum of N5.9b was set aside for the completion of metropolitan projects.
He also explained that the famous Malaria programme was allocated the sum of N1.2b so as to ensure that the state government achieve a great success in the project.
