He also stated that President Jonathan will not take instructions from some former Nigeria leaders and others, who he described as “cabals, unpatriotic and undemocratic”.
In a veiled jab at a letter written by ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo and reactions that trailed it by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and others, the presidential aide said “President Jonathan’s foot soldiers are ready to support him. We are all ready to take the bullet on his behalf and are ready to tell those who want to bring down his government that enough is enough, keep tribe aside in order to move Nigeria forward”.
Gulak, who spoke at the weekend in Asaba, the Delta State capital at the palace of the Asagba of Asaba, Prof Obi Edozien, said those attacking the president were selfish individuals, who do not wish the country well.
He argued that many Nigerians were in support of Jonathan’s re-election bid as he had not only performed creditably well in his short stay in office, but also had the constitutional right to seek a second term.
Continuing he said, “Some people resorted to letter writing, even though the President has instructed us not to reply that he would reply himself. They are out of power and still want to dictate; they want to assume the power of God. Nobody can play God.
“They were in power for many years; they stayed for two terms and even tried to remain in power. Why should President Jonathan be different? he quipped.
“Northerners want Jonathan back, likewise other Nigerians. We should rally round him to continue his good work”, Gulak said
In his response, the Asagba requested for the creation of Anioma State, assuring that the Anioma people are ready to support the President to win election in 2015.
